As a placement agency for data programmers, Smith Hanley sought to distinguish themselves from their tech-oriented competition. We literally put a human face to the firm by creating a personable icon from programming symbols. This visage complements a ligature of the founders' names. The face proved so popular it was reproduced on everything from stickers to lapel pins. The identity was applied to stationery, memo pads, postcards, and recruiting materials for industry conventions.
